Aquaponics is an integrated system combining re-circulating aquaculture with hydroponic plant production. Aquaculture is the production of aquatic life; plants, fish, mollusks, and crustaceans. Aquaponic systems circulate water and effluent from a livestock (fish) tank as the nutrient solution to plants where typically aggregate or DWC hydroponics methods are employed.
